SQM Casting develops 3D and 2D CAD drawings that translate design intent into production-ready data. Our engineers model every feature draft angles, radii, machining stock, and datum schemes, so tooling paths and inspection plans are clear before the first chip is cut. When a project begins as a welded assembly, we redesign the geometry for casting: consolidating parts, adding uniform wall thickness, and incorporating feeders and risers to avoid porosity.
Existing customer models are checked in Step and native formats for geometry errors, then rebuilt where necessary to eliminate non-manifold edges and intersecting surfaces that can derail CAM and simulation. Critical tolerances and GD&T call-outs are applied directly to the 2D prints, with automatic flagging of stack-ups that could cause assembly interference.
Each drawing package includes BOM references, revision control, and material specifications that align with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 documentation requirements. By delivering complete, error-free CAD data, we shorten tool-build lead times, reduce first-article rework, and provide a stable digital thread for downstream CNC programming, CMM inspection, and ERP integration.
